New tool lets Canadians write their MP about gambling ads in under a minute.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ā· Toronto
The Campaign to Ban Ads for Gambling has launched a free online tool that lets any Canadian write to their Member of Parliament about gambling advertising in under a minute ā in English or French.
Visitors to banadsforgambling.ca enter their postal code, which is matched to their federal riding using official electoral-boundary data. The tool drafts a letter urging support for Bill Sā211, the national framework on sports-betting advertising; the writer can review and edit every word before sending, and the letter is delivered directly to their sitting MP with a copy to the writer.
The campaign never shares or sells writers' information, and letters exist so that MPs hear from their own constituents ā the voices Parliament listens to most.
The Campaign to Ban Ads for Gambling is a national, non-partisan, volunteer-led campaign of Olympians, public-health experts, researchers, and community leaders. It takes no money from the gambling industry.
